Anemia - symptoms, sign, causes, treatment
Anemia, one of the more common blood disorders. Anemia is defined as a decrease in the circulating RBC mass and a corresponding decrease in the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.
Anemia can cause a variety of complications, including fatigue and stress on bodily organs.
If you have anemia, your health care provider (HCP) may want to do other tests to find out what's causing it, like ulcers (sore on the lining of the stomach or duodenum) or polyps (growths). Mild anemia are often assymptomatic.
Anemia also occurs when the body isn't able to produce enough healthy RBCs because of an iron deficiency. The most common cause of anemia in postmenopausal women, and all men is blood loss through the gastrointestinal tract, leading to iron deficiency.
