Cholestatic Jaundice Information
Cholestatic Jaundice is caused by thickened bile or bile plugs in the small biliary passages of the liver.
A total of 9 pregnancies complicated by cholestatic jaundice are presented.
Cholestasis occurs in many types of hepatitis, especially those caused by certain drugs, and in diseases.
Cholestatic jaundice developed in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis 4 weeks after penicillamine was added to his regimen, and he died in acute renal failure.
Note that halothane causes a hepatic necrosis, not a cholestasis.
